坎下村在枫朗镇圩镇所在地，设20个村民小组，在册485户、2126人，种烟草。该村在2019年6月公布的第五批中国传统村落名录之列；罗明故居也在村内。^[1]

村名原写作「坎夏」，「夏」与「下」同音，写着写着就成了坎下。^[1]

历史沿革[edit]

原属枫朗村，1958年10月从枫朗大队中分出，另设坎下大队，1986年2月起称枫朗镇坎下村，1998年管理区改称村民委员会。^[1]

罗明故居「兰瑞传芳」，始建于清同治九年（1870年），坐南朝北，上下堂布局，土木结构，占地552平方米，建筑面积432平方米，由罗明的祖父罗群惠修建。2010年修缮后辟出罗明事迹展室；2017年升为市级文物保护单位，2022年7月再升省级（第十批）。^[2]

博雅地名网还把「溪背坪村罗氏宗祠」放在本村，称为清代古建筑，是第十二批大埔县文物保护单位。^[1]

罗明（1901—1987），早年在福建、闽西创建党组织和革命根据地，当过福建省委书记，建国后任广东省人大常委会副主任等职。博雅地名网和维基百科视他为坎下人，百度百科的人物条目则写他出生于平原乡岩霞村。^[3]^[4]
