双楼村在莫村圩镇周围，下辖17个村民小组，全镇农业人口数量居首，约3500人，外来人口也较多。[1]最初叫新村，因村东、西各建有一座碉楼而改称双楼。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

解放前归同正乡，解放初归莫村乡。1958年设双楼大队，1983年建乡政府；1987年改称村民委员会，1990年改管理区，1998年又称村委会。[1]

经济[edit]

村子靠近圩镇，商业较发达，一部分村民出租房屋或开小商店，多数仍以种植巴戟、贡柑、沙糖桔为主。2021年9月，双楼村入选广东省第二批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村（四季茶花）；2019年9月列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位。[1]
