中垌村是信宜市怀乡镇所辖的行政村，在镇域南部。[1]据博雅地名网所载，村内设18个村民小组，登记557户、共2469人，村域面积6.2平方千米，耕地约990亩。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

这里四面环山，形如一块小盆地，又在东镇、白石、池洞、怀乡四地交界，与四镇的距离相当，所以叫中垌。[2]

中华人民共和国成立前隶怀乡卫；1952年立中垌乡；1958年改编为中垌大队；1980年中垌大队拆分为横冲、中垌、旺禾三个大队。此后乡政府、管理区办事处等名称几度更替，1999年起定称中垌村民委员会。[1]

  • 2023年5月，经广东省爱卫会评定为「2022年广东省卫生村」。[1]
  • 2019年9月，名列2018年度广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建名单。[1]

经济[edit]

村里种植水稻、玉米，副业和特色产业有竹器编织、凼仔鱼、三黄鸡；据博雅地名网，上一年全村经济总收入约428万元（年份未注明）。[1]

村里鼓励养殖凼仔鱼，约五分之一的村民在养；养鸡也在推广。[1]
