历史沿革[edit]
此地曾有一座规模较大的祠堂，村名取中堂。[2]
民国年间隶怀乡卫；1950年立中堂乡；1955年改编为中堂大队。此后乡政府、管理区办事处等名称几度更替，1999年起定称中堂村民委员会。[1]
- 2023年5月，经广东省爱卫会评定为「2022年广东省卫生村」。[1]
- 2022年1月，被广东省乡村振兴局定为2021年广东省乡村治理示范村的创建单位。[1]
- 2019年9月，名列2018年度广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建名单。[1]
经济[edit]
村里种植水稻、玉米、木薯，副业和特色产业有竹器编织、塘鱼；据博雅地名网，上一年全村经济总收入约3095万元（年份未注明）。[1]
近年种养业发展较快，有养猪大户约10户（其中1户属省「菜篮子」工程）、养鸡大户约10户、养鱼塘户20多户。[1]
