历史沿革[edit]

1953年设旺沙堡大队，1983年建乡，1987年起设村民委员会，1989年又叫管理区办事处，1999年定名旺沙堡村民委员会，一直用到现在。[1]

地名由来[edit]

这里从前形似一座大碉堡，土质全是沙土，所以叫旺沙堡。博雅地名网的页面把它写作旺沙村。[1]

博雅地名网（未注明年份）载：全村在册350户、1778人，总面积5平方千米，耕地1350亩；年平均气温16.5℃至22.8℃，年降雨量约1477至1941毫米，属南亚热带季风气候。主要作物为水稻和香蕉，特色收入是养殖山地鸡，上一年村农村经济总收入1260万元。[1]
