历史沿革[edit]
1953年设旺坡大队，1982年建乡，1987年起设村民委员会，1989年又叫管理区办事处，1999年定名旺坡村民委员会，一直用到现在。[1]
地名由来[edit]
此地从前有一个大坡，土质发黄，「黄」与「旺」同音，后来称作旺坡。[1]
人口与经济[edit]
博雅地名网（未注明年份）载：全村在册465户、1975人，总面积1.5平方千米，耕地835亩；年平均气温16.5℃至22.8℃，年降雨量约1477至1941毫米，属南亚热带季风气候。主要作物为水稻，特色收入是黄榄，上一年村农村经济总收入1035万元。[1]
