历史沿革[edit]
双垌大队原设在落棉祠堂；1983年建乡，1987年起设村民委员会，1989年设管理区办事处，1999年定名双垌村民委员会，一直用到现在。[1]
地名由来[edit]
村子夹在两列山之间，一条小河从中流过，两岸山脚各有一大片田垌，村民大多靠垌居住，故称双垌。[1]
人口与经济[edit]
博雅地名网（未注明年份）载：全村在册1818户、4789人，总面积8.6平方千米，耕地1638亩；年平均气温16.5℃至22.8℃，年降雨量约1477至1941毫米，属南亚热带季风气候。主要作物为水稻和香蕉，靠外出劳务，上一年村农村经济总收入2110万元。[1]
荣誉[edit]
- 2021年9月，广东省农业农村厅公布的第二批广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单中有双垌村，产业为砂糖桔。[1]
