历史沿革[edit]
1953年设池洞大队，1983年建乡，1987年起设村民委员会，1989年又叫管理区办事处，1999年定名池洞村民委员会，一直用到现在。[1]
地名由来[edit]
据博雅地名网，此地过去多旱地，耕种缺水，旱造的秧要拖到四月底才插下，叫作「迟洞」，后来改用雅音写成「池洞」。[1]
人口与经济[edit]
博雅地名网（未注明年份）载：全村在册1938户、7238人，总面积10平方千米，耕地2500亩；年平均气温16.5℃至22.8℃，年降雨量约1477至1941毫米，属南亚热带季风气候。主要作物为水稻和香蕉，特色收入是养殖和食惯嘴米粉，上一年村农村经济总收入1350万元。[1]

- 2023年5月，该村获广东省爱卫会颁发的「2022年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
