池洞镇是广东省茂名市信宜市下辖的镇，位于信宜市中部，面积146.25平方千米；周边四面分别是怀乡镇（东）、东镇街道（南）、金垌镇（西）和朱砂镇（北）。[1]镇下设一个社区和二十一个行政村。2019年末户籍人口83722人；按第七次全国人口普查，常住人口约4.94万。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

早在南朝梁天监元年（502年），这一带就置过梁德县，后改名怀德县，县城故址在今池洞镇境内。[3][5]百度百科的怀德县词条说，改名发生在隋开皇十八年（598年）；大业三年（607年）县转隶永熙郡；北宋开宝五年（972年），怀德、潭峨、特亮三县并入信义县，怀德县的建制至此撤销。[5]西村村的地名由来说，598年在池洞车国村建怀德县城，西村在县城之西，故名。[6]

此后的行政归属有过多次变化：明代属信宜县的感化都；康熙十三年（1674年）划入黄寮堡；到民国，先是九区下的池洞镇（1932年），后并入二区黄寮上乡（1940年）。[3]

新中国成立后，1952年设池洞区（五区），1957年改乡，1958年秋划归东镇公社，次年（1959年）另立池洞公社。1983年公社改称区，其后改区为镇，时间两说：百度百科记为1986年冬，博雅地名网的概述写作1987年。[1][2][3]

地名由来[edit]

据博雅地名网，池洞地势较高，灌溉用水难得，每年早稻插秧都比周围的田垌晚，起初叫「迟桐」，后来改雅称为「池洞」。[2]

地理环境[edit]

镇域气候属亚热带季风气候，距信宜市区约7公里，207国道从镇境经过。[1][2]

经济[edit]

池洞以农业、资源型加工业和饮食服务业为主。三黄鸡曾被省里列为「一乡一品」的生产基地，镇上建有信宜市规模最大的三黄鸡专业市场。[2]据百度百科，2019年全镇工业企业共68个（规模以上2个），另有85个营业面积在50平方米以上的综合商店或超市。[1]广东省农业农村厅在2021年9月公布的第三批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业镇名单里，池洞镇的产业是水稻。[2]

镇内的食惯嘴一带出产粉皮，已有百多年历史：以冬季稻的黄谷碾成白米，磨浆后蒸成薄片。[2]各村的特色收入里，双垌村和排田村有砂糖桔，旺坡村有黄榄，贺垌村有松香，新垌村有竹器编织。[7][8][9][10][11]

名胜古迹[edit]

莲花湖庄园在镇内两广交界处，占地约600亩，由广东美嘉华旅游开发有限公司投资建设，2020年3月13日开业；园内分旅游景区、百越小镇餐饮和酒店三大板块，设有莲花湖、环湖绿道、玻璃桥、摩天轮等项目。2024年7月3日，广东省文化和旅游厅评定它为国家4A级旅游景区。[4]
