陈村街道在广东省茂名市电白区西南部，东面是旦场镇，南面濒水东湾，西、北两面与水东街道相接，面积23.45平方千米。[1]街道2019年5月由水东街道分设而成，办事处设在原陈村镇政府所在地，下辖7个行政村。[1][2]2020年末常住人口27812人。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

陈村原为一个镇。百度百科记载，1995年11月4日，它被并入县城所在的水东镇。[1]2019年，茂名市政府批准把电白区的水东街道一分为三，即水东、电海和陈村，5月10日，三个街道在电白区大会堂举行揭牌仪式，陈村街道由此成立。[1][2]

博雅地名网说明，街道因辖区内有陈村而得名，相传该村由陈姓人家所建。[3]

地理环境[edit]

街道位于电白区西南部，南临水东湾，邻近县城水东。[1][4]按博雅地名网转载的早期资料，国道325线贯穿全境，海岸一带的海水养殖和海洋捕捞是主要的生计。[4]

行政区划[edit]

街道下辖7个村民委员会。维基百科以简称列出陈村、陈渔、那行、那渔、村山、白石、登步，即陈村村、陈渔村、那行村、那行渔业村、村山村、白石村、登步村。[2][3]其中那行、陈村等村在1953年各设为乡，1958年改为生产大队，1983年复称乡，1987年起设村民委员会，名称沿用至今。[5][6]

据百度百科，2018年，陈村的规模以上企业共13家，8家属工业、5家属餐饮业，当年固定资产投资完成7.14亿元。[1]

博雅地名网转载的一份旧资料，写的是陈村镇时期的情况：当时镇域面积为17平方公里，下设11个村委会，共45256人，2003年人均收入为2950元；优质海产品养殖面积4500亩，网箱养殖超过10000箱，海洋捕捞年产值2.1亿元；工业园占地380亩，有工业企业253间，门类有家具、建材、化工、服装、纺织、花饰、海产品加工。[4]镇上有一条主打陈村港小海海鲜的美食街，傻记大排档、红头大排档等店专营当地海鲜。[4]那时的辖区范围比现在大，所以面积和村数与街道不同。[1][4]
