新南村是南三镇下辖的行政村，村名由1950年建乡时北面的新沟村与南面的永南村各取一字合成[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

新南乡立于1950年，隶滨海区；1952年划入吴川县第九区，1953年12月转入雷东县四区（即南三区）。到1958年，改设新南大队，归南三公社管辖。1983年复称新南乡，1984年6月坡头区成立后属坡头区；1987年称管理区，隶南三镇，1999年改称新南村民委员会，沿用至今[1]。

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，新南村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单；2022年9月，被认定为「2022年湛江市文明村」[1]。
