上南村是大田镇西部的行政村。村名得自它在镇政府西南方、居于上方的位置。[1] 2004年，原上南村委会与南渡村委会合并，仍称上南村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

上南在1958年是一个生产大队，1979年一分为二，另立南渡生产大队。此后经乡（1984年）、村民委员会（1986年）、管理区（1989年）几次改称，1998年10月经恩平市人民政府批准定名上南村民委员会；2004年，南渡村委会并入，名称不变。[1]

经济[edit]

据村委会概况（数据以2009年前后为主），全村有1016户、3864人，耕地2500多亩，村民以种植水稻、香蕉、橙、桔为主；村集体收入来自铺位、竹园、土地发包，2009年底集体经济纯收入3.3万元。[1] 2021年9月，上南村入选第二批广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单，产业为茶叶。[1]
