历史沿革[edit]
村名得自村东南的石山，当地称「石山铭古」，俗称「石山洞」。[1] 这里的名称依次为生产大队（1958年起）、乡（1984年）、村委会（1986年）、管理区（1989年），1998年10月由恩平市人民政府批准定名石山村民委员会，沿用至今。[1]
地理环境[edit]
据村委会概况，全村有729户、2596人（未注明年份），面积11.8平方千米，山地、旱地、水田分别为6700亩、2000亩、2200亩。[1] 村与平石街道新楼村委会相邻，锦江河绕过村的西面和南面，江北灌渠和恩贵公路从村中穿过。[1] 村里的矿产有黄钠石、陶瓷土，特产有青高竹、蔬菜、塘鱼、糖蔗和水果。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
石山摩崖石刻位于村东北坡，元至正十三年（1353年）刻，高1.65米、宽1.55米，四周刻有云纹。刻文记元代肇庆通判吴元良平息当地动乱之事，全文原有762字，现存约220字。[2] 石刻先于1983年成为县级文物保护单位，到1989年升格为省级文物保护单位（广东省第三批）；为护住石刻，2006年又建了占地58平方米的保护亭。[2] 村史馆「石山印记」设有「古韵悠然」展区，以文字、图片等展示这一石刻。[2][3]
荣誉[edit]
2017年10月，石山村获「第一批广东省卫生村」称号；村内的湖边村于2023年5月获评「2022年广东省卫生村」。村还入选「2022年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位（2023年4月公布），并在2024年1月被确定为「2023年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」。[1]
