李边村在沙湖镇东北面，靠近开平市四九镇和马冈镇，有10条自然村，包括北合、李西、李东、六社、朝阳、旧宅、蟠龙、东成、狮村和凤岗。[1]

村委会材料称全村总面积7.28平方千米，耕地1765亩，沙湖经杨桥通开平四九的公路经过。[1]

历史沿革[edit]
1949至1957年称李边乡，1958年为李边大队，1986年起称李边村民委员会，1998年10月起正式定名李边村民委员会。[1]
