南闸村位于沙湖镇东边，离镇政府6公里，与开平市塘口镇接壤；村委会下设七个村民小组：南闸、联胜（含笑边）、南安、朝阳、土岭、六乡（含长安、东安、龙安）等。[1]

村委会材料称全村总面积8.84平方千米，耕地1963亩，鱼塘985亩，山林5537亩；开阳高速、沙湖至开平的省道和杨金公路经过。[1]
