历史沿革[edit]
清光绪年间此地称平地岭，后取平岭村、汉塘村各一字，合称平汉。[1]清代属新化都，民国属第三区平汉乡；1958年为共和公社平岭大队，1983年称平汉乡，1986年称平汉管理区，1998年起称平汉村委会。[1]
地理环境[edit]
江鹤一级公路与省道270线经过村境。[2]
人口民族[edit]
2008年的人口为6522人，另有2389位华侨和港澳同胞。[1]
经济[edit]
耕地约3643亩，林地约9700亩（2008年）；人均收入7005元，全村经济总收入合计26690万元。村内曾是鹤山市瓜豆出口生产基地，土特产有平汉大顶苦瓜、粉葛，另有一家占地约500亩的市属鸵鸟养殖场。[1]近年建有约60亩粉葛种植基地，村中的天润万禾蔬菜合作社组织农户种植无公害蔬菜，这家合作社在2021年被评为国家农民合作社示范社。[2]
名胜古迹[edit]
抗日战争时期，汉塘一带设有中共游击区的交通情报联络站，代号「青松」，现存汉塘交通站旧址。[2]村中一棵约250年树龄的香樟，传说村民曾锯断树干以阻挡日军装甲车通行。[2]
2023年11月，平汉村入选广东「百千万工程」首批典型县镇村；2021年12月获2021年广东省卫生村称号。[1][2]
