九子沙村是新会区三江镇最北面的行政村，北靠江门市礼乐街道，东隔大河与睦洲镇东环沙村相望，设13个村民小组[1][2]。

历史沿革[edit]

九子沙原名「灯盏洲」，此后沙洲不断淤积、围垦扩大；明崇祯年间（1628年至1644年）称九子沙[1]。关于名称，一说是明代尚书何熊祥疼爱排行第九的孩子，把分给他的沙田叫「九子沙」；另一说是何熊祥第九个孩子未满月即夭折，何熊祥将三数顷沙田赐予他，后人便以此为名[1]。

1951年另立九子沙乡；1957年曾与深吕合并为礼南乡；1958年改设管理区，1959年底改称大队；其间1970年起叫朝阳大队，1982年恢复旧称[1]。

人口民族[edit]

据百度百科，村户籍人口7689人[2]；博雅地名网所载地名资料称总人口7700多人，鱼塘近4000亩，种香蕉1900多亩，水稻3200多亩[1]。

经济[edit]

村民的主要收入之一是废旧物资回收：沿1.4公里村道形成了专业市场，年成交额超过8000万元[2]。2020年村里建成两层农贸市场；2023年设立水产养殖培训站和「富民工坊」[2]。

荣誉[edit]

2021年，村党委获「江门市先进基层党组织」称号[2]。九子沙村在2024年1月入选2023年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）[1]。
