历史沿革[edit]
村西的小河涌曾长满芦苇，村旧称芦花冲、芦江，后称芦冲[1]。
南宋景炎年间（1276—1278年），林姓先祖从南雄珠玑巷迁来，立上升村；同期另一支林氏先祖原居福建莆田，转迁新会沙蓢，到元至大年间（1308—1311年）又迁杨坑；子孙繁衍后，形成杨坑、咀边、西月、应扬、正面等自然村[1]。
民国时期同属「第六区牛湾六堡乡」，1958年并入六堡管理区；1961年隶牛湾人民公社，分为芦冲、长坑两个大队，长坑后来改名上升大队[1]。
地理环境[edit]
村域面积10.17平方千米，耕地1435亩，鱼塘1700亩，山地2800亩；共594户、1724人，辖区有企业19家[1]。
经济[edit]
村民主要从事家禽养殖、农业和进厂务工，集体收入来自发包。村内的鸿利畜牧实业公司从事生猪养殖[1]。
名胜古迹[edit]
解放里中间的巷道宽6米多，两侧各有一排统一的青砖平房，共170多间，房屋坐南向北，据村干部介绍寓意祖先从北方迁来；每间面积114平方米，后排比前排高出两行砖[2]。村内另有芦冲双拱涵洞桥遗址，列为镇内文物[3]。
文化[edit]
2023年4月，芦冲村列入2022年度广东省乡村治理示范村创建单位；同年5月，村内的咀北村、咀南村入选2022年度广东省卫生村[1]。
