天湖村在江门市新会区罗坑镇西南，东邻双水镇，西邻台山市，山地多，是镇内辖地面积较大的村，村民以陈姓为主[1]。2026年3月，天湖村入选「广东省第三批“百千万工程”典型村镇」[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

相传古时此地有大湖，称天湖，后因地壳变动湖水消失。明清地名作“天湖蓢”，蓢指芦苇一类生于沼泽水边的植物；民国设乡，简称天湖[1]。

据族谱，岭南“七子流芳陈氏”三子英祖的曾孙陈子谦，在南宋时从台山冲金迁到天湖，为当地陈姓始祖，后裔再分迁陈冲、山咀、杜冈、石渠等地[1]。民国至1951年为第六区天湖乡，之后先是管理区（1958年）、大队（1961年），1984年又由石堂、宗湖、天湖、东胜、龙门等大队合并设乡[1]。

地理环境[edit]

村域面积36平方千米，耕地1570亩，鱼塘3500亩。村内的龙门水库水质天然，供应全镇的饮用水[1]。

经济[edit]

山地发展林业，鱼塘发展养殖。镇的规划在天湖、亨头的湾东路两侧布置陈皮庄园示范区，天湖中阳高速出入口一带规划为商业服务区[2]。天湖药膳猪脚和天湖鸽是当地的特色食品[3][4]。

名胜古迹[edit]

罗坑圩镇墙绘取材的镇内古建筑中，有天湖文昌塔[4]。

文化[edit]

2023年5月，天湖村的东湖村、均和村、石堂村入选2022年度广东省卫生村[1]。
