平塘村是佛山市高明区更合镇东南部的行政村，2004年由原平塘、陇村、蛟塘三个管理区合并而成，在高明区属革命老区，另是区级爱国主义教育基地[2][3]。

历史沿革[edit]

明清时期，景顺乡包括平塘、陇村、马律、横村，也包括良田、榄田、东村、屏山、柴塘等村，蛟塘、沙村、坪岗、钟岭等村属清泰乡[3]。1951年12月设平塘、陇村、蛟塘三个乡；1958年成立平塘大队，隶属高鹤县更楼公社；1987年设平塘村委会[3]。2004年蛟塘、陇村两个村委会撤销，并入平塘村委会，2005年随更楼镇并入更合镇[3]。

地理与经济[edit]

村委会设在旧省道273同县道X504相交之处，总面积约47平方千米，分陇村、平塘、蛟塘3个经济联合社，共19个村民小组；有山地22100亩，农田5800亩，另有鱼塘1800亩；村情材料（未注明年份）记有1523户，约5814人，经济以种植水稻、粉葛和养猪、养鱼、养鸡为主[2]。这里的“蛟塘”是村内的一个经联社，与肇庆市高要区的蛟塘镇不是同一处。2013年村里在镇政府和挂钩单位区国税局的支持下新建了行政服务中心大楼[2]。

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，平塘村入选2018年度「广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」；2021年12月获“2021年广东省卫生村”称号；2023年11月入选「广东“百千万工程”首批典型县镇村」[1]。
