河江社区是佛山市高明区荷城街道的一个社区，在荷城河江片区，社区居委会因此得名。[1][4]辖有河江、古孟两个居民小组（即两个自然村）和河江开发区。[2]

2019年4月，原河江社区居委会一分为二，分设河江与泰华两个社区。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

明清时这里属高要县泰和围；1951年12月泰和乡划归高明县管辖，河江村、古孟村分属丹涌乡和墨编乡。1958年成立河江大队，隶属高鹤县西安公社；1983年改称河江乡，设居民委员会是在1987年，两年后又改叫河江管理区，那时归西安镇。[3]

到1999年，河江社区居委会成立，隶属西安街道；2004年泰华居委会并入；2005年高明区调整部分镇街区划，社区改属荷城街道。2019年4月9日经区政府批复，原社区拆分为河江、泰华两个社区。[3]

人口与社区概况[edit]

社区辖区面积约5.3平方千米，东临秀丽河，南濒沧江河，西与墨编村相接，北与墩冲村为邻。社区简介（未注明统计年份）称，居民约6071户、常住人口约3.2万人；户籍人口仅1443户，其中包括高明监狱这一集体户。常住者里户籍人口为13495人，流动人口有18514人。辖区有企业219家、个体工商户598户，学校2所、幼儿园3所。[2]

2021年12月，广东省爱国卫生运动委员会授予河江社区「2021年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
