港头社区在汕头市澄海区盐鸿镇，位于澄海与饶平交界一带，东临南海，背靠莲花山，西面是鸿一村，东面是上厝村。[1]当地俗称“港头”，因旧时靠近港边而得名，原属盐灶一带。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

相传明洪武年间，林程双从福建游学至此定居，后与黄、沈、胡、詹、杨、叶等姓杂居，统称盐灶乡、盐灶埔，又称新港埠。[1]行政上最早隶海阳县；1477年划入饶平县苏湾都，1563年起归澄海县。[2]1960年盐灶生产大队分为上厝、上社、中社、港头四个生产大队；1984年设港头乡，1986年改设港头居委会，隶盐鸿镇。[2]

地理与经济[edit]

324国道从社区旁经过，金鸿公路北端在此与国道相接。社区土地总面积9094亩，其中耕地699亩、山林地7575亩。至2007年有935户、3822人。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

1929年至1931年间，中共澄海县委机关曾设在鸿沟半埔，港头被列为革命老区村。村内有港头大宫、神得宫、俅氏祖祠等民间历史建筑，以及7株百年以上的古榕。[1]2026年1月，港头获评广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村。[1]
