上厝社区是汕头市潮南区胪岗镇东部的社区，和惠公路从辖区中间穿过，东与潮阳区和平镇下厝乡相邻。[1][2] 2013年底1698户、10810人。[2]

当地传说，唐光启年间潮阳县令吴驹在此建寨，是唐代潮邑三大古寨之一，也是潮阳吴姓的开基之地，古称芦溪。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

名称有两层来历：地处龟头海一条支流的出口，早先叫溪头，村子在上方，所以称上厝。[1] 博雅地名网记，唐光启三年（887年）祖籍晋江的吴驹出任潮阳县令，因这里土地肥沃，称芦溪乡。[1]

1950年属溪头乡，此后曾称上厝大队、上厝乡，1986年起设居委会，其间一度称上厝管理区。[1]

经济[edit]

辖区居住面积1平方公里，耕地50公顷。农业种水稻、脐橙、生柑，家庭手工业以纺织、刺绣为主；服装加工、彩条布、塑料编织、针织、绣花等小企业不少。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

「吴氏家庙」旧址在上厝水关桥凤肠溪北侧，现属上厝寨内，匾额「吴氏家庙」四字出自明代大宝寺卿吴殿邦之手。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，上榜2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；2023年5月，被广东省爱卫会授予2022年广东省卫生村称号；2026年1月，获评广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1]
