溪尾周村是汕头市潮南区胪岗镇西北部的行政村，耕地2300亩，占地约1.1平方公里，2013年底有2783户、15592人。[1] 全村姓周，在练江支流末端，故名溪尾周。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

明天顺年间（1457—1464年），周雍雄来此创基；博雅地名网记其创村于天顺三年（1459年）。[1][2] 明、清到民国初年属潮阳县玉峡都，1921年起为潮阳县第五区溪尾乡辖地；1950年属胪泗乡，此后曾称溪尾大队、溪尾周乡，1986年起设村委会，其间一度称溪尾周管理区。[2]

经济[edit]

世代以农业为主，近年有「达尔丽」「硕蒂旺」等近十家企业，其中「达尔丽」是广东省著名商标。[1] 2020年至2022年进入淘宝村名单。[2]

文化[edit]

村里重视办学，植英学校设幼儿园、小学和中学；植英小学评为区一级学校，植英中学1995年评为省一级学校。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

大塗库相传为明朝初年周东野创建，民间说是「虱母仙」何野云设计。围墙高6.2米，厚0.4至0.7米，四面共长360米；内有10座「下山虎」和8座厝包，共99间房、2口水井，东北、西北、西南三角各有一座连通库内的城堡式炮楼，民间称「三脚蟾蜍」。博雅地名网称它是潮汕地区仅存的最完整、最古老的大塗库。[1]

2019年9月，村里上榜2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[2]
