历史沿革[edit]
名称取自村边一条大溪。村子创建于元至正三年（1343年），明、清至民国初期属潮阳县洋乌都，1921年属潮阳县第九区。1950年归金溪乡，1958年为金溪大队，1981年改称深溪大队，1983年为深溪乡，1986年设深溪居委会，1992年叫深溪管理区，1999年恢复居委会名称[1]。
地理环境[edit]
村后靠大南山，向前是练江平原；山上有金溪水库、金溪发电站和金溪水厂。陈沙公路从村北经过。总面积约14.5平方千米，耕地2420亩，山地9630亩[2]。
人口民族[edit]
介绍所写的农业人口为17845，非农业人口近1000，共4个自然村、6个村民小组[2]。
经济[edit]
当地有600亩荔枝基地，另有凉果加工、服装、文具、电子等行业；佳太子文具（广东省）与百利通电子（汕头）两家公司规模较大。2009年工农业总收入8179万元[2]。
文化[edit]
社区介绍称深溪是大南山革命根据地一带的老苏区，刘大刚、刘明合等领导人出自这里，彭湃曾来此指导工作[2]。社区内的学校和养老、医疗设施多由港胞和华侨捐建，包括刘梦龄学校、深溪华侨中学、老人颐养院和南山医院[2]。
名胜古迹[edit]
翠峰岩被介绍为汕头市十大风景名胜区之一，峰顶建有汉白玉观音像与慈贤殿，还有烈士纪念碑、纪念馆各一处，后两者列为汕头市第二批爱国主义教育基地[2]。
