利陂村在仙城镇东南，陈沙公路南侧、大南山北侧，古称箩坡乡，村民称村子约建于明天顺六年（1462年）[1][2]。

历史沿革[edit]

早年水源不足，村民在溪中用竹箩盛砂、垒石筑陂拦水，村子因此叫箩陂寨，后雅称利陂。博雅地名网记其始建于明天顺年间（1457—1464年）。明、清至民国初期属潮阳县洋乌都，1921年属潮阳县第九区；1950年为利陂乡，1958年为利陂大队，1986年设村委会，1992年叫管理区，1999年复称村委会[1]。

地理环境[edit]

南邻红场镇，东接两英镇，西为深溪，北靠仙门城。面积约8平方千米，山地9843亩，耕地1352亩[2]。

人口民族[edit]

村里有9334人，分5个片、5个村民小组；旅外及港澳台乡亲5000多人[2]。

经济[edit]

种植水稻、淮山、番薯和蔬菜，山上有荔枝、橄榄、龙眼、柑；工业做服装、文胸、跳绳等。2009年工农业总收入3381万元[2]。
