仙城镇在广东省汕头市潮南区的西部，坐落于大南山北麓，与普宁市、惠来县相邻，下辖3个社区和9个行政村。镇政府驻地为仙门城社区。2020年第七次全国人口普查时常住人口为90009人[1]；区域面积在不同资料中记作54.71或55.044平方千米[1][2]。镇内的仙湖景区建于1984年，园内设有汕头郑成功纪念馆[3][4]。
历史沿革[edit]
宋、元两代，这一带归潮阳县新兴乡；明、清直至民国初年，属洋乌都管辖。1921年划入潮阳县第九区，1952年属第十区，1956年设仙城乡，翌年归陈店区。1958年并入东风公社，1961年自东风公社分出，另立仙城公社[4]。1983年12月公社改为仙城区，1986年11月改设仙城镇[1][4]。
关于镇名，博雅地名网记有一则传说：镇区相传由人称“虱母仙”的人建城，是旧时进出大南山的门户，原叫山门城，后人为纪念他，改名仙城[4]。
地理环境[edit]
全镇位于大南山北麓，处于潮南区、普宁市、惠来县三地交界[2][4]。博雅地名网载有一组旧数据：41个自然村，山地40337亩、耕地16106亩，水面3.2平方千米[5]。气候属亚热带季风气候[1]。当地通行潮州话，不过深溪、利陂、梅径、东浮山、神仙里等村居的先辈原本说客家话[2]。省道236线（陈沙公路）经过境内[2]。
人口民族[edit]
2019年末户籍人口为127487人；2020年11月1日零时的常住人口为90009人[1]。
经济[edit]
2003年全镇国内生产总值2.55亿元，工农业总产值5.99亿元，其中工业5.3亿元、农业6983万元，农民人均纯收入2820元[5]。2011年农业总产值1.47亿元，工业总产值10.98亿元[1]。2019年全镇有工业企业90个，规模以上的7个[1]。镇上的七陂村于2021年、2022年先后上榜淘宝村名单，仙城镇本身也在2022年入选淘宝镇[4]。2022年1月，仙城镇被广东省乡村振兴局定为“2021年广东省乡村治理示范乡镇”的创建单位[4]。
21世纪初，镇里确定了低产果树改造、早熟枇杷引种、蕉柑种植和无公害蔬菜四个农业项目；2004年计划投资约450万元，在利陂、深溪、仙门城、东浮山连片开发9200亩农产品基地[5]。
名胜古迹[edit]
仙湖景区在大南山北麓中段，由旅外侨胞和当地居民合资，于1984年建成，占地约3平方千米，评为国家3A级旅游景区。景区背靠粮山，包括新石器时代晚期遗址群和明末郑成功抗清驻军遗址，另有八仙亭群、福天宫等景点[3]。园内的汕头郑成功纪念馆立有一尊5.8米高的郑成功石雕站像，被博雅地名网称作广东第一座郑成功纪念馆[4]。
深溪的翠峰岩建有汉白玉观音像、慈贤殿、革命烈士纪念碑和纪念馆，纪念碑与纪念馆被列为汕头市第二批爱国主义教育基地[6]。神仙里村建有天仙岩风景区[7]。仙门城社区在2021年被评为第七批广东省古村落[8]。镇的旅游资源在博雅地名网的概况中还列有刘明通农民博物馆[5]。

镇内的特色小吃有糖葱薄饼、干炸虾枣；民俗方面，嵌瓷（大寮嵌瓷）见于当地的介绍[4]。
