历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，村子创于明洪武年间，即1368年至1398年间，明清至民国初年属潮阳县洋乌都，1921年属潮阳县第九区。[1]村级建制的演变，自近及远是：1999年恢复居委会，1986年改居委会，1983年合并称司下乡，1958年公社化时分设司三、司四、司五3个大队。[1]博雅地名网称它是著名侨乡。[1]

经济[edit]

国道324线、司英路、司神路和三联路穿过社区，有食品、纺织、服装、印刷等行业的企业100多家，另有数家星级宾馆和休闲中心。[1]社区利用侨资兴建了初中、小学各一所，并建有两处老人活动中心。[1]
