东升村在汕头市龙湖区新海街道，位于金新路东侧，金鸿公路从村中穿过，邻近南海，辖大十合、十合仔、公塭、廿亩内四个自然村[1]。村名取“旭日东升”之意[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

1958年设生产大队时，取“旭日东升”的寓意定名东升[1]。此地宋代归揭阳县的蓬洲都，1563年澄海建县，蓬洲都随之转入澄海县，民国时仍在澄海县上蓬区。1958年建人民公社，村里成立生产大队，次年一度随外砂公社划入汕头市郊区，1961年6月重新回到澄海县，隶属新溪公社[1]。

经济[edit]

村民约6881人、1431户，耕地2527亩，其中水田1168亩，种水稻、花生、玉米和甘薯，年饲养“三鸟”23万只、生猪五千头[1]。村民有出海捕捞和养殖的传统，有渔船88只，年捕捞1371吨，淡水养殖90亩，海水养殖350亩，水产品年产1814吨；工业企业43家，以毛织服装、塑料加工、食品加工为主[1]。2009年村里工业产出9000万元，农业产出4112万元；村集体收入21.2万元，农民人均纯收入4522元[1]。

荣誉[edit]

2017年10月，东升村由广东省爱国卫生运动委员会授予「第一批广东省卫生村」称号[1]。
