乌石岗村是马头镇辖下的行政村，在新丰县东北部[1]。据博雅地名网所载沿革，乌石岗1958年设大队，1984年设乡政府，1990年成为管理区，1998年设村委会，沿用至今[1]。2024年4月，乌石岗村入选「广东省第一批乡村振兴示范村」创建名单[1]。2024年1月，它被确定为「2023年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」[1]。2023年5月，广东省爱卫会授予「2022年广东省卫生村」称号[1]。乌石岗村名列2019年9月公布的2018年「广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单[1]。

马头旧墟原在福水、乌石岗和军屯三地交界的新丰江畔，1959年新丰江水库蓄水后搬迁[2]。
