水南村隶属广东省广州市从化区太平镇，为镇辖行政村，村委会设在镇域北部。[1] 全村面积4平方千米，下设19个经济社，村委会介绍的人口为3300人、农户913户（该介绍未注明年份）。村委会距从化城区约16公里，距太平镇区约4公里。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，1969年“公社化”时建立水南大队，到1983年改名水南乡，到1987年1月改名水南村民委员会，此名沿用到现在。[1]

荣誉与名单

  • 2019年9月，水南村列入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单。[1]
  • 2022年10月，水南村列入「2022年淘宝村」名单。[1]
  • 2023年8月，水南村获评「2022年度“广州市美丽乡村”」称号。[1]
  • 2026年1月，水南村被认定为「2025年广州市充分就业社区（村）」。[1]

据村委会介绍，村里的生计是：栽种荔枝、龙眼；种水稻、花生，也有村民外出务工。[1]
