据博雅地名网，1958年建立佛岗大队，到1967年改设为红阳大队，到1983年12月改设为佛岗乡，到1987年1月分出后改名佛岗村民委员会，此名沿用到现在。[1]
经济[edit]
据村委会介绍，村内栽种荔枝、龙眼，水田里种水稻和花生，近年有总部商务区项目落户。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
从化区人民政府于2015年发布的历史建筑与传统风貌建筑推荐线索名单中，列有本村的簕庄门楼、罗氏宗祠、祖高李公祠，共3处。名单所列只是普查线索，不等于已定级的文物。[2]
