据博雅地名网，1958年建立邓村村民委员会，到1967年改设为红卫大队，到1974年恢复原名，到1983年12月归入元洲岗，改名元洲岗乡，到1987年1月分出后改名邓村村民委员会，此名沿用到现在。[1]

据村委会介绍，村集体经济靠引进手工业胶花增加收入；附近房地产开发时，富余劳动力到房地产公司务工。村里山上有水源林，水田种水稻、花生、蔬菜和火龙果，鱼塘养四大家鱼。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

邓村邓氏宗祠建于明代，2002年7月列入第六批广州市文物保护单位名单。[1][2]
