新华村是广州市花都区新华街道辖下的行政村，在街道的旧城区，因紧靠新华镇政府（今新华街道办事处）而得名。村域约0.21平方千米，分4个村民生产队，总人口1700多人（博雅地名网引述的村情介绍，未注明年份）。当地人仍习惯称它旧名大唐边。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

据搜狐号文章，开基者是三华村的九世祖徐厚之，时间为1319年，村名定为大唐边，叫了六百多年，1953年起才称新华村。[2]

1955年组建新华高级农业生产合作社，三年后升为大队，1984年又设管理区；1987年1月建村委会，并先后属新华区公所、新华镇人民政府，2005年起隶属新华街道办事处。[1]

1939年，日军放火烧村，几天几夜后全村九成的建筑被毁，近300人在这场灾难中死亡。[2]

经济[edit]

村里的农田早已被征用，集体经济靠剩余自留地上的出租商铺；原来的水果街、食街改造提升为太子商业步行街。村内的新华市场，花都人称大市场，无固定圩日。2023年4月，新华村进入「2022年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位名单。[1][2]

文化[edit]

村里设有武馆，由教练带青少年习武、学舞狮；大唐边同德堂醒狮在省、市、区的比赛中多次获奖，徐永路是广东醒狮的市级非物质文化遗产传承人。[2]
