东环街道是广东省广州市番禺区下辖的街道，位于番禺中心城区北部。东面与大龙街道相连，南面是市桥街道，西面和沙头街道、钟村街道为邻，北面接南村镇，总面积11平方千米。[1][2] 街道由原市桥镇分出，2002年3月挂牌，办事处设在东星路100号。[1][3]

街道下辖4个社区和8个行政村，辖区以第三产业为主，园区经济、总部经济较突出。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

中华人民共和国成立后，这一带属市桥镇。2001年11月，东环街道从市桥街道分出；2002年3月28日街道正式挂牌，同时从市桥镇分出的还有市桥、桥南、沙头三个街道。[1][3][4] 街道名称来自辖区所在的东环路以北地段。[3]

下辖的甘棠、蔡边一、蔡边二、蔡边三、龙美、东沙、榄塘、左边八个行政村，多数在1987年前后设立村民委员会，当时属沙头镇，1992年前后改属市桥镇，2001年起归东环街道管辖。[3]

人口[edit]

据第七次全国人口普查，东环街道常住人口为5.1318万人，在番禺区各街镇中居第15位。[3] 另据2011年末的统计，持本地户籍的有1.72万人，外来流动人口3.46万人；[1] 区政府网站的镇街概况则写明辖内常住人口约9.65万人，未注明统计年份。[2] 外来人员数量远多于本地户籍人口，是这里人口构成的特点。

经济[edit]

2011年，东环街道生产总值61.8亿元，比上年增长13.3%；税收6.52亿元，比上年增加30.4%。[1]

区政府网站介绍，辖内以第三产业为主，设有5个产业园区，如番禺节能科技园、金山谷意库、番山创业中心和星力动漫产业园。2023年底的数字是：企业共11006家，规模以上的573家；高新技术企业有244家；入选国家级专精特新「小巨人」的有9家。[2] 汽车展贸、商贸、科技信息、建筑和工业制造被列为五大主导产业。[2]

交通[edit]

广惠城际铁路在街道内设东环站。穿过辖区的干道有番禺大道、市广路、市新路、迎星路等。[4]

名胜古迹[edit]

蔡边一村内的蔡边蔡氏大宗祠（阳平坊大街8号）和螺山岗脚下的日泉、月泉，都是清代的古建筑，已列入广州市文物保护单位（第九批）。[3]
