榄塘村是广州市番禺区东环街道下辖的行政村，位于街道东北面。村子据载建于南宋隆兴元年（1163年），王姓人在坡地种榄树、洼地多池塘，因此得名。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

南宋时因「胡妃事件」，珠玑巷一带的人南逃，传闻朝廷要杀尽黄姓之人，黄宗南迁者带一子三孙改姓王，定居于此。[1] 1949年为亲人乡榄塘村；1959年成为沙头公社榄塘生产大队；1984年改称沙头区榄塘乡，1988年为沙头镇的榄塘农业管理区，1991年定名榄塘村并成立村委会，归市桥镇，2002年划给东环街。[1]

现状[edit]

全村面积约2平方千米；村民1175人，外地来住的约4500人。村集体引入制衣厂、酒店等5家企业，增加集体收入。[1][2]

2019年，榄塘村入选广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位；2021年5月获2020年度「广州市美丽乡村」称号；并被评为「番禺区2022年度抓党建促乡村振兴先行示范村」。[1][2]
