东沙村是广州市番禺区东环街道下辖的行政村，东临番禺大道，西靠新光快线。明末清初黄姓先祖由南雄迁来立村，村名先叫东丫，后改东沙。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
村境平面形似「丫」字，起初称东丫；因「丫」字不雅，加上村东有一条通往村外的沙路，后人改称东沙。[1] 新中国成立后一度改名东星农业合作社，到1964年称东星大队，约1980年恢复东沙之名；此后行政归属几经变化：1987年成立村委会时属沙头镇，1992年转属市桥镇，2001年划入东环街道。[1]
人口与经济[edit]
村域面积约1.2平方千米，村民分属6个自然坊和10个村民小组，登记户籍1852人，另有流动人口三千多。村集体收入主要来自出租厂房和商铺，新力集团、辉宝制衣等企业曾落户村内。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2022年1月，东沙村被广东省乡村振兴局列为「2021年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位；2026年1月，村里被评为广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1]
