历史沿革[edit]
该村与大平村同源，原为平甫村的北约，先后称北约、小平甫、小平步，最终简称小平。[1]村委会1987年设立，隶属沙头镇；此后随区划调整，1992年归市桥镇，1993年归市桥街道，2001年归沙头街道。[1]
建设与荣誉[edit]
村内进行过二次水改、道路硬底化、明渠覆盖等整治；2009年投入172万元建公园和灯光篮球场，另投35万元增设安防设备。[1]小平村曾获「广东省卫生村」「广州市安全村标兵」称号，2021年和2022年列入淘宝村名单。[1]
