汀根村位于广州市番禺区沙头街道西部，面积3.27平方千米，下设10个村民小组，与大夫山森林公园相邻。[1]旧名宁仁村，后改称钉根、汀根。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据说元至元十七年（1280年）由陶姓人家开村，初名宁仁村。村里自然条件欠佳，青壮年多外出谋生，长辈希望他们扎根故土，明景泰元年（1450年）改名「钉根」；又嫌字不雅，当地缺水而人信水能生财，遂改「钉」为「汀」。[1]村委会1987年设立，隶属沙头镇；此后随区划调整，1992年归市桥镇，1993年归市桥街道，2001年归沙头街道。[1]

经济与文化[edit]

村内以出租土地、厂房、商铺、仓库为主，兼有花卉种植和禽类、淡水鱼养殖。[1]汀根龙狮团于2021年代表番禺区参加全国南北狮王争霸赛，获银奖。[2]

荣誉[edit]

汀根村获评广州市生态示范村，列入2021年度广东省「乡村治理示范村」创建单位，2021年和2022年列入淘宝村名单，2026年1月获评广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1]街道概况另称它是省级文明村（2018—2020年度）和广州市美丽乡村。[2]
