历史沿革[edit]
村后有一道横向的山岗，故称横岗；后来村民信水能生财，改「岗」为「江」。[1]村委会1987年设立，隶属沙头镇；此后随区划调整，1992年归市桥镇，1993年归市桥街道，2001年归沙头街道。[1]
经济与民生[edit]
村内出租土地、厂房、商铺和仓库，并有花卉与禽类、淡水鱼养殖。[1]村里建有幼儿园、老人活动中心和公园，为村民购买医疗保险，向60岁以上老人发放老人金。[1]2026年1月，横江村获评广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1]
