长安社区位于狮城镇城区西北部，取“长安”之名，寓意“长治久安”。社区北靠狮子山，东与兴福社区以兴业街北段为界，西与城西社区相接。[1][2]

2003年6月，原城北村委会与居委会整合，设立长安社区，下辖北门、海留、环城、兴建4个小区。[1][2]

人口与行政[edit]

县委、县政府、县人大、县政协的办事机构与其他县直单位共五十家设在社区内，周宁一中、周宁十中、县实验小学等学校也在其中。博雅地名网称社区是周宁县最古老的街区之一。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

1993年，周宁县在外经商的企业家自筹资金开发建设狮子岗风景区，园内有小天安门、菜姐庵、休闲亭等景点。[2]

社区内有三棵油杉王，各有五百多年树龄，其中一棵立于政府大楼后，树龄逾千年，树下建有两座庙宇。[2]

海留路内有财神宫、黄三尊公等古建筑两座，洋中路内有陈氏宗祠。[2]

社区内流传“搬铁枝”等传统民俗活动。[2]
