石塘村位于海沧区嵩屿街道东北部，毗邻海沧生活区，是城乡结合部的行政村，总面积约9平方千米。村委会驻石塘社，村名由此而来。[1][2]

村辖6个自然村，包括石塘、排头、水头、刘山、地头等。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

此地旧称树林兜，原属海澄县三都。清代属崇隆保。1940年为第四区金钟乡石塘保，1946年属金霞乡。1958年8月划归厦门市，属郊区海沧公社，设石塘大队。1984年改为石塘村委会。2003年10月，此地置海沧区；2006年1月，海沧镇撤镇，此地改属海沧街道。[3][4]

人口与户籍[edit]

村有常住人口5513人（包括造船厂、路桥、集体户），全村共1803户，另有外来人口39900余人，设11个村民小组。[3]

开发[edit]

1989年，国务院批准设立海沧台商投资区。据村概况，海沧的开发建设于1990年1月1日在石塘村率先展开，此后大部分土地被征用，村民转向房屋出租等第三产业。村集体建有农贸市场，并建设了石塘村外口公寓项目。[3]

村中保有一棵百年大榕树，有谢氏家庙5座，庵庙类民间信仰点19座。[3]
