桂望村在海丰县城北部的新开发区，与县城只隔一座山，是原莲花山革命根据地之一，也是莲花山森林公园的入口一带。全村有5个自然村和一处莲花山教师新区，约2000多人。^[1]^[2]

历史沿革[edit]

桂望原在守望乡，1952年分设桂望乡，此后经高级社（1956年）、大队（1958年）、重设乡（1984年）、村委会（1987年）、管理区办事处（1989年）几次改名，1998年又回到村委会，2011年改称桂望村民委员会。^[1]

全村总面积约17平方千米，耕地2000多亩，党员39人。靠近县城的区位带来了工厂：5家宝石厂、2家雪糕厂、1家出口食品加工厂，纸箱厂和矿泉水厂各一家；还有6处花卉盆景基地和600多亩菜地，村民另养鱼养猪。^[2]

桂望村于2019年10月入选广东省卫生村名录。^[1]
