桂子村是梅州市五华县周江镇下辖的行政村，位于周江镇西北面；据村情介绍，辖18个村民小组，在册528户、2543人，耕地约1097亩[1]。
历史沿革[edit]
清初此地杂居多姓、生活清贫，没有读书人，被叫作「鬼子围」；后来翁姓人口增多，出了十多位秀才，人们以此地为贵，「贵」「桂」谐音，改称桂子[2]。
新中国成立初归第七区；1956年属中友乡，建桂子高级社；1958年属周江公社；1973年划入新设的中兴公社，1983年归中兴区公所；2003年冬中兴镇并入周江，称桂子乡人民政府，隶周江镇，今为桂子村民委员会[3]。

村里种水稻和烤烟，烤烟是特色收入[1]。
