历史沿革[edit]
1949年这里是梅县程江区下的桃西乡，1958年成为程江公社的桃西大队。1983年，程江区公所把它划给西郊区，仍称桃西乡；其后村委会于1987年设立，1989年叫桃西管理区，1998年起定名桃西村民委员会，一直使用。[1]
地名由来[edit]
新中国成立后，由“桃子树下”和“西步岗”两地合称桃西村。[1]
荣誉[edit]
广东省乡村振兴局于2022年1月将桃西村列为2021年度乡村治理示范村的创建单位；到2024年1月，桃西村又被确定为2023年度广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」。[1]
