历史沿革[edit]
这里1949年划归城内区，1958年人民公社化，编入梅城卫星人民公社（后称梅城人民公社）。1975年起隶梅州镇，1978年12月梅州镇脱离梅县，社区所在随之归梅州市（县级）西区办事处。1987年4月撤区并小乡、改设乡镇，归黄塘办事处；1988年3月梅江区成立，仍属其黄塘办事处；1989年该办事处易名城西办事处，社区也随之改属。居委会本身由当时的梅县人民政府在1960年批准设立。[1]
地名由来[edit]
相传宋代的古革是古成之（岭南第一位进士）的曾孙；1097年（绍圣四年）他与古堇、古巩两位胞弟同科考中，兄弟三人一榜及第，在梅州传为美谈。他后来出任潮州刺史，宣和四年（1122年）在梅城北门外建了大宅。因为身材矮小，上马要踩石阶，家人便在门外放了一块石头，这一带于是叫作“马石下”。[1]
荣誉[edit]
梅江区曾在2006年授予居委会「五好党支部」、2007年授予「先进基层党组织」；西郊街道党工委则于2008年评其为「先进党支部」。此外，该社区入选2019年9月公布的2018年度广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建名单。[1]
