历史沿革[edit]
此地1949年划归城内区，1958年人民公社化，编入梅城卫星人民公社（后称梅城人民公社）。1975年起隶梅州镇，1978年12月梅州镇脱离梅县，社区所在随之归梅州市（县级）西区办事处。1987年4月撤区并小乡、改设乡镇，归黄塘办事处；1988年3月梅江区成立，仍属其黄塘办事处；1989年该办事处易名城西办事处，社区也随之改属。2002年，三角塘居委会改为三角塘社区。[1]
地名由来[edit]
当地说法是，熊屋、肖屋、杨屋三处屋场之间原有一口三角形的鱼塘，故称三角塘。[1]
荣誉[edit]
在计划生育方面，梅江区于2006年评其为「计划生育工作先进单位」；2007年得到梅州市「先进社区」和梅江区「先进基层党组织」两项称号，2009年被评为「文明先进社区」。该社区也在2019年9月公布的2018年度广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建名单之列。[1]
