历史沿革[edit]
此地1949年划归城内区，1958年人民公社化，编入梅城卫星人民公社（后称梅城人民公社）。1975年起隶梅州镇，1978年12月梅州镇脱离梅县，社区所在随之归梅州市（县级）西区办事处。1987年4月撤区并小乡、改设乡镇，归黄塘办事处；1988年3月梅江区成立，仍属其黄塘办事处；1989年该办事处易名城西办事处，社区也随之改属。2002年，程江居委会与辅庭居委会合并。[1]
地名由来[edit]
居民聚居在程江桥附近，因此以程江为名。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
朱云卿故居又名百福堂，在程江居委的朱屋坪，建于清嘉庆年间，原为三堂四横的围龙屋；于2021年12月升为梅州市一级的文物保护单位，屋里陈列朱云卿的生平事迹。更多内容见西郊街道一条。[2][3]
荣誉[edit]
居委会2005年得梅江区「五好党支部」；2006年，梅州市评其为「先进社区」；2007年，广东省授予「六好平安和谐社区」，梅州市授予「文明社区」。程江社区同样在2019年9月公布的2018年度广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建名单里。[1]
