历史沿革[edit]
清末这里属西厢堡；1931年为第一区的一部分，1941年入黄寨乡，1952年划城北乡，1956年划城西乡。1958年冬编入卫星人民公社，设西区大队，1965年转城郊人民公社，1975年8月起归新设的西郊人民公社。1983年11月公社改区，村称西区乡，1987年起设村委会，1989年称黄塘管理区，1998年改为村民委员会。[1]
荣誉[edit]
西郊街道曾在2007年评西区村为「人口与计划生育」先进单位。西区村也在2019年9月公布的2018年度广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建名单里。[1]
