历史沿革[edit]
清末这里属西厢堡；1931年为第一区的一部分，1941年入黄寨乡，1952年划城北乡，1956年划城西乡。1958年冬编入卫星人民公社，设寨中大队，1965年转城郊人民公社，1975年8月起归新设的西郊人民公社。1983年11月公社改区，村称寨中乡，1987年起设村委会，1989年称寨中管理区，之后改称村民委员会。[1]
地名由来[edit]
1998年，依照中共广东省委、省人民政府《关于理顺我省农村基层管理体制的通知》（粤发〔1998〕14号），寨中管理区撤销，改设寨中村民委员会。“寨中”是沿用已久的历史地名。[1]
荣誉[edit]
寨中村的称号依时间先后有：2005年12月，广东省卫生村；2006年6月，梅江区先进基层党组织；2007年6月，梅州市农村党建「三级联创」活动中的「五个好」村党组织；2008年6月，广东省先进基层党组织。[1]
